Exploring Elpis in Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel offers fast-paced low-gravity combat, unique Vault Hunters, and plenty of powerful weapons to discover. To help players get high-tier gear early in their journey, Gearbox Software releases special promotional strings known as SHiFT codes. redeeming these promotional codes grants players Golden Keys, which unlock rare and powerful equipment.

Understanding SHiFT Codes and Golden Keys

SHiFT codes are 25-digit promotional keys distributed by Gearbox Software through social media channels, events, and developer updates. When redeemed, these codes reward players with Golden Keys or exclusive cosmetics for their characters. Golden Keys are used specifically to open the Golden Chest located in the hub city of Concordia.

Opening the Golden Chest guarantees high-rarity loot, including purple-tier weapons, class mods, and OzKits. The gear received always scales to your current character level, making it smart to save some keys for later levels.

Redeeming Codes In-Game via Concordia Kiosk

The most direct way to claim your rewards is directly inside Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. Once you reach Concordia during early story missions, head to the central square near the Fast Travel station. You will find a dedicated SHiFT Kiosk sitting right across from the Golden Chest.

Interact with the kiosk and navigate to the code entry section. Enter the 25-digit code carefully using your controller or keyboard, then confirm. After successfully entering the code, switch over to the rewards tab inside the kiosk menu to claim your Golden Keys.

Redeeming SHiFT Codes Online

If you are away from your console or PC, you can easily redeem codes online using any web browser. Visit the official Gearbox SHiFT website and log into your account. Ensure your primary gaming platform account, such as Steam or PlayStation, is properly linked to your profile.

Navigate to the Rewards tab on the website and paste your 25-digit SHiFT code into the provided box. Click check, then choose the platform where you want the rewards delivered. The next time you log into the game, your Golden Keys will be waiting at the Concordia kiosk.

Tips for Maximizing Your Golden Chest Rewards

Because Golden Keys are consumed upon opening the Golden Chest, managing your keys efficiently is critical. Avoid spending all your keys early in the game when leveling happens quickly. Save a portion of your keys for moments when your current equipment feels underpowered during challenging boss fights.

Additionally, remember that SHiFT codes often have expiration dates set by the developers. Keep an eye out for newly released codes and redeem them right away so you never miss out on free gear.
